love. an interesting and complicated subject.
what does it really mean to love? better yet, what does love mean?
is it a choice? is it something we automatically feel based on the things that society teaches us as early as childhood? most meanings would describe love as...an affection towards someone or something. so is it a feeling? an act? again...complicated.
seems to me...its a feeling that one doesn't choose. it's automatic. controllable, yes...but still automatic. however, we feel a different love for different people and things. the love for a mother is different from a love for a child, a friend....different, and even yet, different for a lover. just where am i going with all this...unsure? but i do know...most humans aren't built to extinguish genuine feelings (love) like a light switch...knowing that the person or people we love are not deserving...or unappreciative. but wait!...isn't that a part of unconditional love?...
